In a LAN using internet through a router, I connect to a friend over the
same lan, to give him support, via Messenger remote assistance service and
works great!!!, both connected to the internet., but when i'm trying to
connect from another pc outside the lan, i.e., my laptop pc ...

Is using remote destop connection pretty secure?  I mean in the sense if I
use it from work to access other computers such as at home, other than the
IP address - can any of the session be captured?

Should I make my home PC with XP Pro installed part of a domain to be-able to
connect to my work network (Server 2003). Should I lock-on "To This Computer"
or lock on to the Domain on home PC when I whant to connect to the work
network with (RDC).

Is there any way to offer remote assistance using alternate credentials.  My
problem is, our help desk is in a different domain than the users PCs. So
whenever I try to offer remote assistance, it says Permission denied.

i use remotedesktop to connect to a windows xp prof. german incl. SP2.
After a while, the winlogon crashes with the window 'winlogon.exe - Fehler
in Anwendung'.

I would like to connect to my fathers PC but I have a big issue.
