How can i setup remote desktop so that on my domain, i can access a computer where a user is working without locking the session? i need him to show the problem, and then i need to work on his profile for the solution (Like RealVNC does it)

I have established a VPN between my home and work network. The VPN will connect and stay connected But I can not get remote desktop to find my computer at work. I can use remote desktop from one of my other computers on the LAN at work but I can't over the VPN.
