I need to remotely connect one XP Pro to another XP Pro PC. The remote PC
will not be manned so the remote PC cannot reply to an invitation. The IP
address of the remote PC, the router and gateway IP address is also known.
How best can I setup a host PC to access the remote PC.

Does anyone else have the problem with RDP recently where it keeps
disconnecting/reconnecting if you view any large images?

I'm setting up an application where the PC (XP SP2) is running in a
"headless" configuration (no keyboard or monitor).   The user connects to
the PC with Remote Desktop Sharing from a Windows CE device, over a wireless
ad-hoc network.  This part works very well.

users accounts.  One account can run RDP fine, save passwords, etc.

I have a strange problem. I need to VPN into a remote network, and once
connected, RDP to a server on that network. The VPN works fine. But when I
try to RDP to the server, it starts to connect (seemingly) - I can see the

My problem.  I have 1 computer running Win98SE that is the client.  I
have another computer running WinXP Pro that is the host (remote).  The
Win98SE is trying to control the desktop of the WinXP Pro machine.

I have a requirement to connect from within a heavily firewalled network out
to other Windows Servers on the internet.  This network only allows
connections out on port 80, 443 and a few other common ports.  Terminal
Services port 3389 is blocked as are most others.
