We recently replaced our DSL router.  It is a 2Wire 2701HG-B.  I can no
longer connect via Remote Desktop to my computer at work from my laptop.  I
can connect fine with the other two computers in our household, both desktop
computers.

I'm trying to set up remote destop on an XP Pro machine using a linksys
router. The router setup for UPnP forwariding forces you to make a choice
between UDP and TCP for the type of connection when setting up a forwarding
rule. Which protocol does RDC user, or does it use both.

My RDP sessions from home to my office machine at work fail to connect.  The
connection starts but fails during the final stages.
If I reboot my office machine, I can then connect again for awhile (a couple
of days or so).  Normally I don't reboot my office machine nor do I logout ...

However, it is hard to force all client go to safe mode to run this command.

I use Remote Desktop on Windows XP Pro SP2 with latest updates to help my
users.
On some of the computers, Remote Assistance doesn't work.

I just tried clicking on the Directory icon in NetMeeting and it tells me
that Microsoft Internet Directory no longer exists (or words to that
effect). It then refers me to MSN Messenger, which I already have.
Is NetMeeting superseded by MSN Messenger? I see it has options for ...

but problem is that their IP address changes frequently. I need some
software that would email me every now and then their current address
automatically.
