We run a small help desk function for about 2000 users.  We have some
individuals who travel and while traveling, they VPN back into the network to
access resources and check e-mail.  We lend these users laptops in order to
do this and they only have user rights to prevent them ...

I've installed WS-Management 1.1 on a pair of XP machines and run
winrm quickconfig on each machine.
Then I've tried, e.g. winrm identify -remote:testbox1 and I get

I have my Dell Dimension 4700 setup to support S3 standby and the Intel Pro
100 VE network card configured to wake up on traffic.
Normal wakeup works fine if I move the mouse or touch the keyboard. Monitor

tried using Remote desktop, connection from computer A to computer B.. got
connection but its asking for login and password  ,my computer does not have
a password ,so what am i doing wrong ? please  be gentle with me .. very new

How can I allow those who have already logged on to have remote
desktop access, but those who are not logged on to not be able to
access their machines? In other words, a user logs onto their home pc.

I set my RDP to an alternate port number.  But I can't seem to get
port forwarding to work through that port.  Has anybody successfully
set this up?   The interface on this router is a bit convoluted, and
support is nonexistent.

Here's the scenario, I used to be able to remote into my parent's
network when they were using Verizon DSL and their wifi router/modem.
Now they're using earthlink (twc behind the scenes) and a linksys

I am an administrator of a domain and from home I can establish a VPN
connection and RDP into my work computer.  I gave one of my test users admin
access to my computer and can RDP as them into my computer as well.  However
I cannot RDP  as myself or as her on to her computer.  ...

Have used foldershare successfully for a number of years with 5 PCs running
XP. Right now, it is taking quite a bit longer to connect and login to
Foldershare.
Any ideas why this might be?

I had a connection setup with My Documents.  While I was on the road, I could
simply get an internet signal, open My Documents and it brought me to my
server in the office.
