I have an old Windows ME machine I recently plugged into my home network. I installed the remote desktop app on the machine, have the network configured but I am unable to use the remote desktop app from my XP Pro machine to access the older Windows ME machine.

I have the router configured for the appropriate port and the other computer is VPNed into my location, but even when i try to connect, the connection just hangs on "Attempting to connect." The windows firewalls are not turned on. Is there any other config that needs to be looked ...

Is it possible to allow a user to click a shortcut or program that will automatically send a Remote Assistance request? I'm trying to eliminate their need to go through the entire wizard. Thanks

I connect a stand alone laptop from my home to a PC via DSL LAN workgroup, when connected to the PC on the LAN I go to start/settings/printers and noticed that in the list it includes my local printers from my laptop and or that have been installed at one point.

Hi. We upgraded to Verizon Fios. The router is Actiontec MI424WR and our wireless adapter is Netgear MA101 installed on a desktop that has Windows XP. There is WEP encryption on the router. The computer can see the router but we cannot connect to it to get to the internet.

Thanks to Robert L. I have successfully added some firewall settings (which werent applied with my GPO). For some reason when I attempt to connect to a workstation using remote assistance I get the error: "A program could not start. Please try again"
