I've seen a couple posts around with this problem - offering remote
assistance from  Vista x64 to XP but I havnen't seen a solution.  This the
most information I've gathered on the problem:
In event log, before the remote assistance issue happened, there is an

Suddenly RDP won't connect. I'm running two machines on WinXP SP3 32-bit,
and suddenly, yesterday, RDP won't connect.
I don't get any error message, RDP just blinks "Connecting to

I have been using RD for months, connecting using Remote Desktop Connection.  
Suddenly I get msg "the client could not connect...."   I am running XPpro

I am trying to update Remote Desktop on XP SP2 to v5.23790.2589 using
Msrpdcli.exe v6.0.2600.0.  I have done this successfully on at least ten

using Windows Live One Care as the firewall
We selected Remote Assistance in Windows Live Once Care firewall ports
