I have a small network with a couple users connecting to a win xp box that
acts as a server to store documents and run an application.  I have a firebox
vpn router currently installed and map drives to the XP box for the files and
app.

Does anyone know how much data is exchanged between the RDP client and the
RDP host when the connection is not in use (idle)? The company I work for
report a list of top-internet users and I don't want to occur on that list  
when accessing computers outside their network ;-)

I have two networks connect via a vpn and can access any computer via remote
access but one. When I try one certain computer that is running XP SP3 either

I have a couple of Windows XP machines running under VMWare, and access them
through Remote Desktop.
My question is; is there a way to activate functions to allow the client to
select Shut Down and Restart instead of only Logout?

I have a remote user connecting to an MS PPTP VPN. The user can connect to
VPN and ping by IP but it fails to properly resolve host names. It appears to
be using the LAN DNS server instead of the ones specifid in the TCP/IP
properties for VPN.

The Help for setting up RD in Windows XP says to, open System in Control
Panel, then click the Remote tab and then select the Allow users to connect
remotely to this computer check box.

I have 2 XP SP2 clients trying to connect using RDP.
Connecting Client uses RDC v6 and/or 5.1
Serving client uses the default TermServices (5.1)
RDC is enabled on serving client

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 and a laptop running
Windows XP.
When the the laptop is in the office and connects wirelessly to the
server, everything works fine between the laptop and the server in

I am connected to Cable and wish to drop my static IP.  I am presently behind
a linksys router and I am the administrator.  Will I be able to access my
computer with RDC and if so what is the best way to configure it.
