when is service pack 2 going to be released because quite
frankly installing literally 50+ patches etc (postsp1) is
ridiculous and wastes my time.

Hi all.  I am a relatively new user but have not been able to find any
information in new users NG (or any NG with search for that matter) about
this.
I am using AVG free virus scan software from grisoft.com which seems to be

i've downloaded some much needed patches from the
microsoft website for my computer, however when i go to
run them its says that,
"setup could not veirfy the integrity of this file, make

I understand there is a patch for XP home to cure the most
recently identified problems. Can anyone tell me where to
find it? Also, does XP not have a scan disk option? I have
looked but cannot find.
