Every few seconds I ahve another window opening up even when I am not using einternoe explorer. I currently ahve 25 open windows adn I am almost to the point that I am going to uninstall the dam thing. Can anyone help me out?

Windows update fails with an "Administrators Only" message on Window 98(!) & 2000. This occurs even when you use the administrator account. Look like an IE problem, automatic updates work in 2000, however this is not available in 98.
