Someone sabotaged my computer by deleting my user
profile. I can only enter thru limited account now. I
need to regain administrator status and recover the files
that were in a folder on the desktop of the lost user

I found one web site that claims that Windows XP will not allow a
remote login to an account with no password.  Another web site claims
that XP Professional blocks this, but it is possible under XP Home to
remotely login to an account with no password.  Which is correct?

For some reason or another that cannot be explained, I
can no longer access the local security policy under
administrative tools. when I click on the local security
policy icon, I get the following group policy error

I put a computer in safe mode with the help of the
msconfig in order to fix a virus.  Problem is... I forgot

I am attemtping to send a message from the computer mgmt.
snap  in to the other computer in my peer 2 peer network.
I can browse folders, create shares both local and
remote. However when i attempt to send a admin. message

Is there a way to include a DRA on a group of standalone
laptops that are using EFS so that if the laptop craps
out, I can put it's hard drive into another laptop as a
second drive and recover the encrypted data?

My folders are marked read only. When I go to properties
and remove the check and apply the change to all folders
under it. It takes the change, but after you leave and
come back it has ignored the request. Can anyone help me.

Hi!  I have a laptop with Windows XP Professional.  My
uaer account has administrator privledges.  This morning
I set this account to have a password when I log on. I
did this through User Accounts in Control Panel.  The

I used Microsoft windows Xp proffessional in my computer.
It has four partitions of which three are ntfs(c:, D:, f:)
and one is in Fat32(E:).I encrypted some files in C: and
D: and due to some reaso which i cannot possibly

lan. Is this possible or will I just have to bring my
