I can run Task Manager by going to Start, Run and entering
either c:\taskmgr.exe or c:\I386\taskmgr.exe but not if I
enter taskmgr.exe.
So Task Manager is still on the computer, but does not

I found a folder in my Program Files named Support.Com.
It contains folders listing much of my internet favorites
and sites visited.  I'm not sure whether it's related to
a legitmate application or if its spyware.  I ran Adaware

How can I set up a logon password that actually works in
windows98?  As it is now, you can just click cancel
instead of putting in a password and the computer boots
up.

I want to enable the registry of an user, whithout change the user
profile.

Is it possible to include a password for a cd which
contains data that I do not want changed? In other words,
no one else could open it without the password?

Help.  I cannot change my Explorer preferencew.  Xp tells me  to consult
with the administrator and as much as I talk to myself about this problem,
we ( me and I) cannot figure out how to turn the preferences back on.

Pop-up ads are constantly showing up on my machine.  I
have successfully blocked some with panicware but some or
all are leaving an extra copy of internet explorer
running and over time so many are there that the machine

I HAVE TRIED TO LOGON TO MY WINDOWS XP AND IT WILL NOT LET
ME LOG ON.  IT APPEARS TO LE LOGIN IN AND THE IT STOPS AND

Anyone else bothered by those pop up ads that seem to be
falsely comming from msft?  I can't get rid of them-and
ironically, they are ads for pop up blockers.aI am open

I used a xp workstation and added the domain of the server
and logged on. Apparently it created a profile on the 2000
server and when I log on it uses that profile and I cannot
use my old desktop any more, I have a Novell 32 bit client

What is spyware?  How does a person's computer get infected with spyware?
How do you remove spyware? How do you protect yourself from spyware?  Should
I be concerned about spyware on my computer?

McAfee virus scan detected a potentially unwanted
programm called 'optimize.exe'. I am not able to delete
the file, not even as administrator. Has anybody an idea ?
