One of my kids iniatiated the Power up password and does not remember what the password is. Is there anyway to disable this? Safe mode perhaps? I cannot get past it to the main windows screen. Thanks

I work for the Salavation Army and we were given a computer with xp home edition and when we boot, it has a password at login screen for a user. We do not want to reformat how can we get around this to get into windows.

I receive about 40 e-mails a day with Microsoft latest patches attached most are about 156kb in size. I don't need any of these as I use auto update via Windows xp the question is how do I stop them coming. Tia Peter

When I try to install updates from windowsupdate web site, I get the license window. Top part used to contains list of updates, but it is empty now, and the Accept button is disabled all the time.

I am having a major problem with this pop up - it tries to connect to the above site, every time I open IE6. It then uses 100% system resources until I close it down, which I have to do via Task manager. I have XP Pro, bang up to date, Zone alarm pro ditto - AVG grisoft Ditto.
