Application vendor tells me that application user does not
have to be an administrator, but DOES have to have
read/write access to system registry.  This is documented
in their knowledge base, but their support people do not

I have been installing the updates, however when I go to
check for more, the old ones are still wanting to be
installed. My Installation log shows that all the updates
have been done, yet the site wants to install them again.

stop supplying security updates for the Home edition of
Windows XP in 2006.  Yet it seems that a new version of
Windows won't be available until that year.  Does that
