XP has lately stopped prompting myself and a friend to save passwords/info when we visit websites. Is this because of one of the latest security updates, or is this some setting that XP decided we didnt need at this time

We just installed windows xp home edition. When online we keep getting kicked off with a box that says the system is shutting down - NT authority/system. The RPC remote procedure call service terminated unexpectedly.
