I've just upgraded my machine from XP Home to XP Pro and
now I can't access http://localhost:8080 because it asks
for a login.  I don't know what to use for
username/password; the .NET username/password specified

I'm setting up an XP image for a high school computer
lab.  I've been using gpedit.msc for locking everything
down, and it's been working great.  However, it locks me
out too!  This is the side effect of not being part of a

I have an annoying problem.   When ever I pull up "Add or
Remove programs" in Windows XP Home I get a monster gap
between the first 10 or so programs and the rest, I

Regarding the Defragmenter, only users belonging to the
Administrator group can defragment a volume. Does anyone
know if there is a way to allow other groups to do this?

allows me to choose between two types: administrator and
limited. I am trying to run QuickBooks on this system,

I am having a problem setting up a new XP Profesional
computer.  Any user in our domain can log on to the
computer except for one.  I can not find any reason why
that user is not being allowed to log on.  The error that

Mcaffee keeps giving me a nirus alert about

Is there any possiblity to give users the right to start and stop
services, without granting them full-administrative rights.
I normally work on my xp machine as a non-priviliged users, but know I
need to start some services sometimes.
