Trying to share a database (Access) across a simple peer-to-peer network
using XP Pro.

When I try to run "gpedit.msc" I get the error
message "Snap-in failed to initialize.  Name: Group Policy
Object Editor.  CLSID:{8FC0......}".  I get the same error
message when I try to add the snap-in.

Even when I'm logged in as an administrator, I can't seem to get the
runas utility to run a process as user NT AUTHORITY\LocalService:

I installed Ad-aware 6, a spyware cleaning tool. Now I am
not able to see anything under my 'Admistrative Tools'. I
tried restoring the deleted files of Ad-aware. But no
luck.

Is there any way to repair a corrupt system file without doing a complete reinstall?  Right now the Windows will not boot (even in safe mode).  

I am stumped and I hope that someone can help me.  I have
a customer with a Windows XP Pro computer that has two
users.  These two users have placed all of their shared
files in the "Shared Documents" folder.

Help.. I just updated to XP and everytime I sign on to the
internet I get a automatic shut down window saying NT
Authority.(?) I don't have NT.

XP backup fails, but only backing up drive C:  It
says "error creating volume shadow copy: 80042301"  

I am no longer seeing the lock icon when I go to a secure
site. Do I really need it and if so how can I get it back?

Recently read about Microsoft including another company's new "anti identity theft" technology in an upcoming update for Windows and Microsoft Office.  For example, according to the story, it will be included on the toolbar of MS Word.  Is there any truth to this allegation?
