Is Systems Restore a problem as I am led to believe that
viruses even though ostensibly killed are brought back to
life by Systems Restore. If so this a major deterrent to

I had a problem with a corrupt user profile and copied
all the user file over to a new user account.  I deleted
the old (corrupt) account but chose the option ot keep
the files just to make sure (windows creates a folder on

I am facing a very peculiar problem with
my windows xp laptop.
My compaq laptop is loaded with xp home edition
and as soon as i log into it it logs me out.

When setting up a new os, ms oobe begins to prompt the
user.  I have heard that there is a way to temporarily
bypass this and select whether or not it will display the
next time it is booted.  If anybody is familiar with the

When I uncheck the read only box under foler properties,
attributes, hit apply, then ok, then look at the
properties again, the gray check is back under read-only.  
I'm logged in as administrator, and have full access

Does anybody know if there is a way for workgroup
connections to XP pro to use credentials other than

and I would like to delete all the stored ones and
prevent XP from capturing these in the future.  Can

I have just got the virus kwbot (its a worm) and it has
infected c:\windows\system32\cmd32.exe but my antivirus
software cant heal it. I was wondering what it does, can
i deleted it or am i stuck with this one infected file?

As I was cleaning up my system I found the
file "keylog_test.exe". Its located in the
\windows\system32 folder but I can't search and find
it... I have tried everything I can think of... Does
