Hi.  I am working on a friend's Windows XP machine.  It is a brand new PC and shortly after she got connected to the Internet she went to the Windows Updater site and scanned for critical updates.  Her PC froze at that point and would not start up again, not even in Safe Mode

I have a small LAN connected through Linksys BESFR41. If ICF is enabled, by
default it blocks both LAN and WAN. I want to enable LAN and block WAN. Are
there security policy templates or howto's on how to set this up on a XP Pro
box?

I just wonder if xp pro can handle turbo pascal on dos
promt or not cause i have installed pascal on my pc and at
the moment it still doesn't work. Everything appears to be
alright but the keyboard and mouse dont work on dos.

I installed XP on my daughter's computer as an upgrade.  She can't get into AOL.  The message is no modem.  I called AOL who says the problem is Dell's.  I called Dell who said it was a driver problem and they would send a driver to me on my home computer.  Dell didn't do it.  ...

on as the administrator. i tried creating a new account
with addministrator right but I still recieve same
