I upgraded to XP Prof recently. I am now unable to access

I share my pc with my children and going into their logons tonight, I saw that they can access my documents, by going into documents and settings and clicking on my name.  When I tried to make my documents private, the tick box is shaded out

Can anyone help on the following problem please ?
When I click on Start / Windows update, the web page appears for about a
second and then disappears leaving the normal desktop. The same thing
happens if I type "windows update" into google and then click on the link.

Anyone know how to disable Windows XP Professional from asking a user what the log in password is?  I know you can do it with Tweak UI, but is there another way?

When I try to install this patch, I cannot.  The message
