When I attempt to activate the firewall within XP Home
Edition I get the following error message:
"the dependency service or group failed to start"
I don't know what to do next?

I have a hard drive with Windows XP loaded on it.  The
main user had a password protected account.  I am trying
to access the my documents folder and copy the data to
another computer.  I keep getting access denied.  Any way

install. My OE help tells me I have OE 6 so why won't it

I tried to make one of the folders executable but  unselecting the read property  .
But when i go back and see it it is selected.What shall i do?

I know that I can setup user security for services through the MMC but how
do I do that via command line.  You have cacls for the file system, regini
for the registry but what is used for the services?  I want to add the Users
group permission to run the telephony service.

I've installed a copy of windows XP over itself (in order
to repair it), but I've left the Documents and Settings
folder intact. All of the settings and files of user
accounts from my previous install are still in there.

Once the files have been downloaded do I have to be on
line to install the files??

With new updates coming out daily, we are trying to setup
