When getting "Critical" updates, either automatically or
via web service, most of them fail installation because
they "Don't pass XP LOGO TESTING".  What gives, doesn't
MS TEST their own updates for compatibility???????

I'm coming from NT roaming mandatory profiles which really locked the
desktop down.  Under AD, I've set some desktop policies, but have not found
anything that will prevent users from creating desktop shortcuts, or adding
files to their desktop.  Am I missing something?  Thank you.

I have around 60 computers, without any domain controller.
Due to various reasons, I cant setup a domain for this
network. I would like to setup each machine with one

I have a winXP pro pc infected by blaster.  The RPC has been disabled in the default hardware profile, and cannot be re-enabled, even from the recovery console. If I copy the profile, it copies the RPC settings.  Is there any way to enable the RPC without a reinstall ...

Someone has installed "inetinfo.exe" & Atievxx.exe. I know what it does, but it's driving me crazy. I can't seem to find anywere on my hard drive, even under hidden files. It says that it's under a H key. What the hell is that, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Please help.... ...

I've recently checked my installation history for Windows
Updates and realised that a significant amount over the
past 18 months have "Failed". How do I correct this ? I

I set the Group Policy to lockout certain features (eg.
Control Panel, Snap-Ins, etc), and acidentally locked my
own admin account out as well, so now I can't go in and
change anything, including the group policy b/c when I type

to mess up some applications that they where using. One of
which was vb code calling microsoft Outlook. I since took
them out of the workgroup template but they still cannot
