Ok, on a standalone computer running XP Pro I need to put
policies in place that allow only certain users certain
things.  I know that I can use the Security feature of each
individual program; however, I want to deny the group

I've got a windows xp box that for some reason I can't grant any security
rights to individual directories.  The windows xp box is completely updated
with all patches available on windowsupdate.

I have something on my PC, looks like
adware/spyare/parasite.  It placed a bunch of shortcuts
onto my desktop, put a toolbar called biasarmy in
explorer, and another toolbar on the bottom of the

Hi guys and gals.
I have a problem. I am running on XP on a standalone
laptop and when I create a file and save it my desktop it
is OK. I click on the file and drag it into another

I am trying to create a service that will (among other things) reboot the
embedded xp device even if no one is logged into the system (ie. the logon
screen is currently displayed).
In my service (written in C# .NET) I have tried using the different APIs

I have a system that crashed. We were able to get the
drive to work as a secondary drive. However there is a
problem, we are not able to access the users private

I built a system, installed XP Pro, and everything was fine.  then i slaved
a drive to transfer data, POST found the slave, but the blue screen of death
shows up after the splash screen saying:

need to reinstall Windows, due to a vorrupted ntdlr file, so I save all my
