The beta release will not allow access to the disk management snap-in.  It states I don't have authority on 'machinename'.  I am the admin on this machine as well as the only user.
Any ideas how I might fix this

My restore function has disappeared and because of that I can't get rid of some trojans I have. Is there a way to reinstall it without completely reinstalling windows xp? Also I have heard that the windows xp has a fix feature in it, does anyone know how to use it? Thanks.

I wanted to make a backup of my registry prior to making
some changes to remove adware and spyware from my
computer and unfortunately under Accessories-->System
Tools my computer does not have the Backup option there.
