i have downloaded most critical update patches named as
hotfixes
starting with kb_.... offered by microsoft.but i found

Within Internet Options, I know I can clear History and
change number of days which can be logged. But is it
possible to disable Win Xp from logging History totally.

I am curently using windows XP Home.  When I try to edit any options in Internet Explorer (Homepage, etc.) it is denied and says I need to contact System Administrator.  The problem is, I am logged in as administrator.  What could be the problem ?

I received a pop up from my antivirus stating that the following application wanted to connect to the internet:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\KFGGHQ.EXE
I don't know much about the windows inner working, so I am not sure if this is part of the OS or ...

   I'm having a problem getting the automatic shutdown to run in XP Pro.  I
set up a scheduled task to turn my computers off at 1am, but it doesn't
shutdown when a limited user is logged in.  The task shows as executing with
admin rights but the system doesn't power down.

OK, this problem is serious enough that I have
temporarily disabled my login password to my laptop so
that I can actually use it.
