When I join another domain, logon causes another profile in documents and
settings to be used.
For example:  If I join domain "ABC", after rebooting, and after domain
login, I find myself logged in using the profile for "userid.ABC" instead of

I have two machines using XP.  On one, if the machine is inactive, it automatically logs the user off.  On the other, the user stays logged on indefinitely.  I can't find where to control this choice.

How do I disable user accounts on XP Pro. I need to stop users from accessing this computer. If I delete the account a new account is made when they login. So what I am looking for is a way to stop them from accessing this computer.

Recnetly had a main board die on me and replace with a
differnt make-model-manufacturer and upgarded the hard
disk as well. Now, having the old drive as F: I can't

I have a problem with Windows XP Service pack 2 on my system.
I have had to turn off autoupdates as I can't get it to run.
Everytime I try to install service pack 2 it crashes my system and I have to un-install it.

Somehow I am not the Administrator of my computer
anymore. I have tried to change it via the user
accounts.  I have two accounts one for administrator and
one for limited user (both in my name).  I still can not

Hi,  recently, a "feature" showed up on my toolbar - It's
a search box that has the default text "search the web".  
If I right click the tool bar, you can see that it is
checked as "search assistant". I don't know where this

I have created a group on the worksatation called TEST.
I open the Administrators group and attempt to add this
group and it doesn't show (but the built in groups do)
Go to Advanced and search for the group -- no show.

FACTS: I have "encrypted" two folders (files with Microsoft WORD files, and files with Microsoft ACCESS). I am using Microsoft's Windows XP Professional, and the associated native "encryption" for the NTFS files.
I have a Fujitsu DYNAMO 2300 U2 external drive with 1.3 GB ...
