We don't use Internet Explorer, Outlook Express or
Messenger. We all run Windows XP Professional.
Do we need to download and install SP2?
Is there a way to customize the download?

I have been trying to use the windows update but end up
in error code 0x80070003, normally this means the folder %
programfiles%\WindowsUpdate\v4 is missing, but this is
not the case.

I recently did a fresh install of Win XP Prof and installed SP2 on top of
it.  Just as with Win2k, I noticed that Windows XP has sharing enabled by
default.  I right clicked on my hard drives and found that both were
automatically set up as shares.

I am trying to install the patch for this security bulletin but whenever I
try I get an error stating that I need to have Outlook Express 6 with SP1
installed.  I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 which means I have OE6 SP1.  Any
help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know how to get this thing off  the computer.
I tried to  do a system restore and it  won't let you go
back to a date before it was downloaded. I HATE this

There seems to be a variety of software out there that happily runs if the
user is a Local account and a member of Local Administrators, but doesn't
run if the user is a Domain account and a member of Local Administrators.

I've just upgraded my home laptop client to xp pro
running office 2000. 2003 will come later but not yet :-)
I have been through the menus and walkthroughs for
setting up user account and tweaking admin accounts etc.

My Task Manager (accessed with Ctrl+Alt+Delete) used to
bring up a box with running applications, CPU usage,
etc.  Now it merely brings up my user name.  Any idea how
I may have lost the first Task Manager and how I can get
