In XP Home what does one have to do to give some users the right to add

When SP2 for XPpro becomes available is their any problem downloading it to
a CD using Win-98 them installing into XP machine. Part two: is there any
problem accessing it, obviously one can't use auto update.

I put a pass word on my xp windows. To manage  my kids
computer time. I forget my password. When i turn my
computer on it's asking for a POWER ON PASSWORD wich i

I cannot get any of my folders to allow me to select
the "Make this folder private" option. I have followed
the instructions on this website. There might be a
problem with the names of folders involved. There is no

Please help. I am trying to keep my kids off my computer when they shouldnt be.
They have discovered that all they have to do is reboot and press F8 to
bypass to safe mode.

every time i try to open a short cut, a box pops up
asking to open with current user and to protect files or
open with another user,this has just started a few days

I am leaving on a trip and want to connect to my home machine from a friend's
house.  We both have WinXP Home.  Can someone walk me through the steps to
get connected from her computer to mine?  I am home now so I can set my
computer to co-operate before I leave.

My new XP will not allow me to open certain attachments.  
I downloaded Adobe reader and can now open them however
the standard mail attachments, word and others just won't
open.  I thought it might be a security issue but really

Last night I was online and all of a sudden a got a messenger conversation.  
I hadn't used messenger in ages, the icon was not in the task bar and I
didn't start it up.  I quickly went to task manager and ended the process for
msmsgs.exe However, every few minutes it starts back ...
