(www.vx55.com) opens at the bottom of the screen and links to a porn site.
Everytime my kids or myself open IE this happens. I have tried everything to
make it stop, HELP please. I thought of re-installing the OS but...not sure
if I have to.  Please help if you can.

Help!! I've got serious problems here! I was having problems with my PC
(couldn't connect to other PC on network; couldn't open items in Control
Panel or certain shortcuts). Then I noticed a file, msupdate.exe, in my
Startup folder. Tried to delete it, but was told it was in use. ...

1.  How can I change the password for the "Administrator" account from
another account with administrator privs?
2.  Since I already have an account with administrator privs (mine) can the

XP professional:
When booting (either in normal or SAFE mode) - system gets this error before
any type of login screen: "lsass.exe The application failed to initialize
properly. Click ok to terminate." I am getting this error on a remote laptop

Norton AntiVirus has instructed me to delete certain
files using Windows Explorer.  When I click on those
files to delete them, however, I find that "access is
denied".  How do I get rid of those files?!

I asked this same question on the help_and_support site and received an
answer that said Microsoft does not care about bogus emails disguised as
official Microsoft Updates.
Several times recently I got bogus emails that advise me to download sp2 or

My NAV 2004 comes up with an X over the icon on the task
bar.  This is because I went to MSFT security and allowed
it to monitor the NAV (I clicked on Recommendations).

I have installed Norton Internet Security 2005 and I have the previous
Norton Antivirus 2004 patch for SP2 installed, but Windows Security still
does not "see" the norton firewall and antivirus  in the security center

on a network.  I am unable to share any of my folders, with the exception of
my "c drive" root folder - which I do not want to do.

Hello...looking for some suggestions here...short of a
format c:\ - I recently reinstalled XP over an existing
installation to fix a weird notebook/keyboard driver
issue (after attempting everything else of course). I did

sight, and even tried installing it from the SP2 CD from

completed normally and then entered a sign-on screen asking
for the administrator password. I was never asked for or
