SP2 - McAfee Stops Running15 Sep 2004 21:53 GMT1
After I installed SP2, every time I boot, the computer
comes up with McAfee antivirus stopped.  This then causes
the new security function to complain that it's stopped.  
Any idea why SP2 is preventing McAfee from running?

It seems to mee that the XP firewall (after installing SP2) leaves two
ports unprotected; namely port 139 which is closed but not shielded,
and port 445 which is left open. This observation is based on relevant
testing using Steve Gibson's "Shields Up!" which can be run from

I notice a service on my machine named "scog14869"  I can
find nothing about this service.  Does anyone out there
have any idea?

I am trying to remote manage several Windows XP PC's on
our Domain. I am a Domain admin and have privilages on all
the PC's in question. When I open computer management and
connect to the problem PC, I get access is denied for

I have been having a problem for some time now with my
homepage being reset to (what looks like) a microsoft
site. The text in the search bar always refers to a file

I turned on my PC as normal last night and everything was fine until the log
on page. i clicked on my user icon as normal and it said loading personal
prefferences etc then it flashed and came up with the loggin out screen
ready to shut down!!!

Have a Microsoft Corporate license reloaded my computer
with Windows XP with SP2.  Then tried to install the
adminpak for Windows 2003 servers and would not load.

When I set up 2 users in XP, Both have Admin rights, the
next day I am missing.  I am in the explore C tree but
