Yeah, this is about as close to "emergency" status as ever ...
My computer keeps crashing ... I reboot .. all comes up ... I can get one,
or if I'm lucky two programs opened .. but then it freezes .. I can still
move the mouse around but it has no use ... trying to navigate with ...

Hi,  I unistalled my Norton Internet Security and it seems that it took with
it some other things as well.  I am using a HP Pavillion 7915 desktop with
Windows XP Home edition that is up to date on all security patches and
releases.  My HP update center is no longer working, ...

I don't want to keep automatic updates on on XP home how do I disable the
red shield in startup tray.
It annoys me by popping up the reminder that it is not turned on every time
