Getting the Firewall Working in SP211 Feb 2005 12:01 GMT2
I recently upgraded to SP2 [what a struggle!] via the upgrade 250mb file
downloaded off the developers XP site.  I noticed that the Firewall did not
automatically cut in.  So I tried to prompt it resulting in the following
message:
SECURITY UPDATE NOT INSTALLING11 Feb 2005 07:57 GMT2
I  DOWNLOADED FEB SECURITY UPDATES,AND TRIED TO INSTALL THEM IN EVERY
DIFFERENT WAY BUT IT ALWAYS FAILS.I DONT KNOW WHY?I TRIED TO CLOSE ANTIVIRUS
AND FIREWALL BUT OF NO USE.THE UPDATES ARE :
KB888302,KB890047,KB887472,KB885250,KB891781,KB888113,KB73333.

how do you get around the password needed in Content Advisor? It's become
enabled with noone having done it....
Where would the registry key for that be, so the current could be removed
and a known word be substituted in it's place?

I am on Windows XP SP2. I have installed AVG 7.0 and I keep getting this
window saying that a file with extension .exe has been found in the TEMP
folder. Then it reads: "Trojan horse Downloader.Istbar.5.AQ" I choose to
delete the file, but it seems to me this trojan keeps causing ...

i had a hotmail account before and it seems it was stolen,i have tried to no

I use windows XP and 98se I have some problems
,there are some files that is copied automatically in
the %windir%\SYSTEM32 in both windows and is executed automatically

This is my question.  I have NTFS formated hard drive that its registry is
corrupted.  Can not even start in a Safe Mode or any Mode.  The error message
I got is something to do with the Corrupted Registry and can't load "Hive".

Is there anyway that I can restrict what other users' have on their start
menus? I would like to restrict access to the control panel as well as either

     I need help to resolve the issue.
I created a shared folder yesterday and a friend copied all his data into
that over the net. After that I removed the sharing rights.
Now I can not open that foler. The size is huge 4 Gb. I tried taking

I am running XP Pro.  The computer was hit by various spyware.  Now at every
reboot, windows asks me to register.  The funny thing is the code I have to
use never changes.  I thought it was randomly generated.  I have tried
uninstalling SP2 as well as rebooting to safe mode and ...
