I am currently getting ready to roll out SP2 for Windows XP Pro. I have some concerns and I'm hoping that someone can help me with some questions I have. The first question is will SP2 cause any problems with the cumulative security patches that have been released?

I seem to be unable to switch off XP firewall - in 'Security Centre' it shows firewall is switched on, yet when I hit the 'firewall tab' it says its switched off.....duh!. Can anyone shed any light on this please? I an trying to set up a wireless network.( the other 2 machines ...

i have WinXP with SP2 machine. Suddenly from today onwards, I can't access https link in my IE. I tried installing some other browser too.... That too failed. Normal http links are working.

I'm running an XP pro environment within an active directory domain. I have multiple users sharing the same computer but I need to have one account/username to always displayed as the default username on bootup at the logon screen.

I have Windows XP SP2 installed, no router, just a simple DSL modem. I have turned Windows FW off; however, ShieldsUp show all of my ports as "stealth". How can that be? I have no other firewall installed and have not yet installed my antivirus program. I'm quite confused.

Ive reacently added 3 xp sp2 stations to my 2003 domain. While the existing XP and all the 2000 pro machines are behaving as expected, these three are not. I have 2 problems and I'm not sure if they are related.
