I am unable to run newly installed software on Windows XP Home. When I double

Every time I open Explorer and look at the history, there is a wierd entry
up first on the list identified by an apparently random series of characters.
The only page visited under this entry is "Cannot find server".

When i try to open user accounts in control panel the timer flashes for about
a second and nothing opens

I have a regular Windows Service program (not a kernel driver) which must
start BEFORE a user logs into his machine (XP or W2K). It works most of the
