I have been trying to get the SP2 firewall to allow NNTP type transfers without success. The only way I can get my newsreaders to work is by turning off the firewall, something I don't really want to do. I am currently using Thunderbird but have tried Xnews and Xana news.

My virus program detected a trojan horse in my taskmgr.exe file. It cannot do anything about it because it has no access to the file. What do I do? Any help will be greatly appreciate.

I am a user of windows XP home edition, and I had windows XP installed on C drive partition and my documents on D drive partition (only 2 partitions). In XP settings, I am the administrator, and I had a user name and password too to my account.

Installing new pc's with XP Pro running our Purchasing software. Attached to the compter on COM1 is a handheld unit for maintaining inventory control. The Purchasing software uploads & downloads information to this device.

I continually have my norton Internet Security popping up alerting me that my firewall is turned off. What is causing this to turn off? How can I prevent the windows firewall from turning off?

whenever i run microsoft antisypware, it detected "Trojan.Downloader.TargetSavers" @ "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TSA". i tried to remove it using antispyware and manually but in vain. is there any way to remove this? I think it is adware cos i keep getting

I have windows XP home and I created a limited access account in windows so other people can use my pc and not change any of the config, but when I log on to the limited access account, I get many many times the ERROR Access Denied.

I run a single computer with WinXP SP2. Originally, I had one user name to which I gave administrator rights. A little later I made some setting errors, and as an easy way out created a new user name to which also I gave administrator rights.
