Well, I have to virusus that i cannot get rid-of, wininet.dll is infected with W32.Desktophijack. And oleext.dll with Trojan.Desktophijack. I have and ran Norton Antivirus and is Up-to-date. When I ran a full system scan it wasn't able to repair or delete the infected files. Well ...

When I exit Word I receive a message saying macros are disabled and to see help to enable macros. Searching on the phrase yields no results. How do I enable macros or stop this warning screen if in fact there are no macros to enable.

I recently discovered that several new network printers were installed on my laptop through network names I have never heard of. I have been on the road and using my WiFi at various motels which are not WEP encrypted. Might XP have installed these printers automatically?

I have few Windows XP sp2 Pro distributed in various locations that I need to Disbale Some Functionality (IE and run). But When I do that thru GPedit, it includes the administator account. Is there a way to apply policy to local users and exclude administrator.

I can hear the computer blocking it when I hit the sync button on the cradle, so I know the connection is fine. There's something in the computer blocking it. I turned off the firewall on Windows, but it still is blocked...please help!!

Anyone out their know how to give font istall rights without making the user a local admin. The user needs to install or modify fonts since he is developing a font system for his language class. We use a domain system here so I could send down a group policy change if needed.

Iam running XP Pro, with service pack 2 and I think all updates. How do I turn on the firewall? Or is it automatically running? Whats the best software firewall to run? Is a router say a linksys one safe?
