Is there a way to use Group Policies to let users install a certain software
that we use for our company?  Right now, the users are in the User group.  I
don't want them to have more rights than that, except to let them install or
update a particular program.

I am using windows xp pro SP2, with all windows updates made.
I also use Kaspersky as antivirus and sygate as firewall.
Everything was working fine until i decided to apply Safexp

it seems that every year when norton internet security is nearing

Whenever my computer is on, i get random pop-ups titled "Messenger Service."  
They do not seem to cause any problems at all, but they are just a pain to X
them off.   They come at about 10 an hours.  I have anf get no virus's etc

Something has happened and I cannot enable Audomatic Updates.  I go to the
control in Control Panel, and Turn Off Automatic Updates is selected, but
everything is grayed out, and I cannot select Automatic.  The service is
started.
