I am trying to set up x-lite Voip phone on my daughters computer. I am tryng to do this over the phone, with her in another country. I know from installing it on my own computer that if it is installed with Firewalls operational it will not successfully make a call.

I have a clients pc that I cannot enable the firewall. It comes up with message " For your security, some settings are controlled by Group Policy". The firewall settings are greyed out and in the OFF position.

When I try to use Windows update for XP I get error number 0x8024001D which, of course, MS says is not their fault. I already tried the suggested fix of registering MSXML3.dll. In the face of the company's failure to support their own software, what else can I try?
