I think my computer was hacked, perhaps by a wireless neighbor or
vehicle parked outside. Anyway, I no longer have authority to do just
about anything. The administrator had a password added and I don't know
it. I'm running XP home and DON'T have a disk.

I saved all my document into an external HDD because I wanted to reinstall
my PC once my PC was installed I tried to open my files which in the external
HDD but I couldn’t because all my files where encrypted for security.

I just built a new computer, and decided to keep my original hard drive for
storage, and run my OS on the new hard drive.. I have a ton of important
files that I left in the "My Documents Folder" on my spare drive.. Basically

I have the Administrator account of my home PC. All of my family members use
the different accounts to log on to my home PC. I want to make some of my
folders cannot be accessed by other people. But, I don't want to make my
folders hidden. What should I do?

a couple of strange things started happening recently. First, when I start up
the pc my taskbar security centre icon tells me my computer is at risk
because automatic updates is switched off (it isn't. I have it set to
automatic download, and as far as I'm aware it's working).

Is the windows firewall in xp sp2 good enough to use? Or do you think I
should use a program like zone alarm?

I'm using windows xp pro on a ntfs partition and would like to set it up so
that when I add new users their My Documents folder is automatically put in a
specified place ie a different partition.
If this can be done what permissions should the partition have or will XP
