I just reinstalled XP and it appeared to go smoothly. However, the only account that existed was Adminstrator which I didn't mind at first and I did everything I needed to do to get my machine back up again. I reinstalled EVERYTHING and created all my email accounts on OE.

I have two unknown files in my Windows folder on an XP SP2 machine: LPT$VPN.606 and VPNTFILE.606 (14MB each). Spyware/Adware/Virus scans find nothing, but they seem suspicious to me (unknown file type). Can anyone tell me what these files are?

Somehow, I've hidden one of the users on my system, it does not show up on the welcome screen. However, if you disable the welcome screen, you can login normally. The account IS there, just not viewable from the welcome screen. Thanks

I set up account lockout policies to lock an account after several tries, but when I changed my password, the account gets locked out constantly (though just retrying a few times usually gets me in). I've turned on as many security logging options as I can find, but no logs show ...
