Here's my puzzle:
I have a secure, hidden server separated from our AD domain in a
workgroup. Select domain users need to access hidden shares on this
server via statically mapped drives and local (non-domain) accounts.

How can I tell from this list of devices which (if any) is "listening"
to my keystrokes or network packets?
Some of them sound fishy, eg IPSECSHM, Eacfilt, Network Monitor,
Arrowkey, System Recognizer, etc .

Running Win2K Server.
I want to be able to start and stop services from a batch (.cmd) file,
without having to logoff as the normal user and log back on as

         I have XP Home Edition SP2 firewall turned on, in addition to
McAfee's. (Which was free through Comcast). Add to that, the Privacy Service
through same program. Am I running un-needed extra's that may be slowing down
internet connections ?

I'm trying to create a roaming mandatory profile on 1 of my 2 XP Pro
machines, both machines are in the same WORKGROUP.
I copied the profile in question to a new folder that I created in Documents
and Settings, then updated the profile with the profile path and changed the

I have the issue where the firewall will not stay on (XP2 Home).  I have
followed all the recommendations in other posts - regedit, restarting
service, etc. and I can get it started but it doesn't stay on.  Everyone also
recommends running the various anti-virus and spyware ...

I get a reandom pop-up window with a green sticker icon in my task bar (where
the clock is). The pop-up starts with a circled red "X" with the foloowing:
Windows needs your current credentials. Press control-alt-delete and press
enter, etc. etc.
