ok... sooo theres a little icon thats look like the windows security update.
but it flashed to a red circle with an X in it. it keeps showing a bubble

I just noticed that I had a second local area connection attached to my
computer. when I tried to get rid of it -- since I had no idea who or
what it was from -- i rebooted the system. Now my computer won't

I am working on a friend's computer that has been infected for some
time (possibly with the RBOT-ACT trojan as well as other spyware).

fire wall i tried to download zone alarm,but now it says that that the root

Is it possible to protect an individual folder with a password in Windows XP
(a bit like you can password-protect a file in Word)?  (ie  C:\My file\office
correspondence, protecting the Office Correspondence folder with a password)

I am a Windows XP user. Under an original username, I encrypted a folder
which I was able to access as long as I was within that particular account.
No other Users could access it, as they would be denied entrance (standard
fare for an encrypted folder, as I understand it).

Hey everyone, I have been infected with the Trojan.Zlob Virus and can't

Free, AdAware, and SpyBot, but several problems were encountered.
When I try to update AVG, I get: "Update server connection failed. ..."

reinstallation less traumatic, is there software available to make a copy of
the C: drive and to write that copy to the new disk?
