I have a friend who has Norton Internet Security 2005. He blocked something (doesn't remember what) and now Internet Explorer cannot access the internet. How can he resolve this? As he reads the categories to me over the telephone there doesn't seem to be any choice

I have two notebooks. There were 5 Critical updates for the WinXP were: KB913446; 911564; 890830; 911565 and 911927. My other notebook has WinXPmedia edition (both SP2) and there were only 4 Critical updates: KB913466; 890830; 911565 and 911927. No KB 911564.

I have Xp Home, SP2, and have tried security check with Gibson's Research Website, which shows that I fail on the "ping" check, but am secure for all other checks. (grc.com) When I do to Windows firewall, I notice that ICMP tab has "allow ping"

I just noticed today that my windows firewall is not running and there was no notifications that it had been turned off. I went into the settings to turn it back on and it said that "For your security, some settings are controlled by Group Policy".
