Backup Operators do not have access to change journal. I tried local
security settings - user access rights but i cant find a way to provide
backup operators to have access to change journal.

To all,
We recently changed companies/offices.  We previously logged into Windows XP
Pro through a domain.  Our new office does not have access to the domain.  We
changed the connection to a workgroup type, and now cannot log into the

OK, I have snooped around, googled around and still managed
to miss the answer to this one.  Multiple computers, running
XP Pro, SP2 all in a workgroup on my LAN (behind router).
Admins can share folders by right click, "sharing" ... as expected.

I have created local policies on 1 PC.  Now, I would like to copy and
apply these local policies on another computer.   I know it has to be
done with SecEdit but I have problem figuring out the whole process (I
tried to do it but it didn't work.

I have several users who cannot log on to XP workstations via Remote Desktop
unless they are explicitly given the "Allow log on through Terminal Services"
right in the local security policy.  The users are members of the Domain
Admin group as well as the Remote Desktop Users ...

My windows update icon is gone and when I go to the site for updates it
states that system admin has disabled this feature.  I am system admin and  
ran gpedit.msc to change this, still nothing.  No icon and denied updates.  
Turned off firewall and Norton and still  same message.  ...

Im running XP Pro, 2 users me and another person. I need to create personal
folders where the other person doesnt have access to. My C: is NTFS remaining
are FAT32. I want f: not to be displayed for the other user.

Since the last update on friday I have been getting worm intrusion on my
computer and also script errors. Can anyone help me on this. I have tried
doing a recovery but its still there. I hope that someone can help with this
problem.

Iam running Windows XP with sp2 and keep it up to date.   Every 15 minutes I
get an Ms03-026 error message warning - my security software PcCillin 2006
blocks the access -  when I check the fixes for MS03-026 they state they are
included with sp2 and also I tried to download the ...

When I enter my windows password, it shows the actual text I'm entering.  
When I'm on the web, any passwords show up as dots.  It's when I'm entering
the windows password that the text shows.  This is both the password to get
into windows and the screensaver password.  Any help ...
