I am using Windows XP Professional SP 2.
When I try and run a application such as, to name a few: Mozila Firefox or

I can't seem to add gpedit.msc when I run mmc

The subject is updates to Windows Defender Beta 2. I prefer not to run the
scans automatically, just when it is convenient.  i see instructions for
requesting malware signature updates, beginning with  Help > About. However,
they will not work for me. Please advise.
