My computer crashed due to a harddrive issue, at least I think it did.
I came up witht the blue screen of death. Anyway I was able to get a
new harddrive and my old one started working again. I have no clue what
itsI am not able to retrieve my files from the old harddrive.

Has anyone found an easy way to retrieve your personal files from a profile
created in a previous version of Windows XP (HOME), after installing XP Pro?  
It is looking at my old profile as highly restricted and I cannot get to my
old files, which I really need.  Any solutions out ...

Programs RootkitRevealer and Gmer shown that
c:\Windows\System32\antiak.sys is a rootkit.
How to get rid of it? Should I simply delete the file

Hello, my younger sister just recently decided that she would make a seperate
Windows account.  Previously, we've always put everything we needed onto only
one account (the default admin account).  Since we only use the one account
it always by-passes the "account sign in" page ...

I have a user who whenever she changes her network password it breaks the
authentication in outlook and IM. I am running xp machines and exchange 2000.
She can change her password fine and authenticate to the domain and have full
network access but both her IM and outlook break. ...

Released today.  I just installed on XP Pro.
Forgot I had Windows Defender Beta 2 on there.
What to do now ?  Nothing ugly has happenned, but OneCare probably
incorporates a more recent version of WD , correct ?

I maintain a small rural library's computers with a variety of protective
software. Also with volunteers who often kludge things up!
Windows One Care Live seems like a great remedy for this situation.
Does any one have any insights/expertise with this software?

I am able to see the "disabled" accounts with the red X on the account name
but a co-worker only sees the icon for user but it is not marked as being
disabled.
I know this has to be a quick fix.

We really need some way in our department to give Users (in the Users

My Windows Firewall dissapeared a couple of days ago and wont come back.
Clicking on the icon in Security Centre produces nothing but a short
unhelpful message.
I tried to fix this by using the repair function of my Windows XP(home) CD
