i have an xp machine that is not in a domain (yet) and i am trying to do some
WMI diagnostics on it before i add it tot the domain.  I CAN remote desktop
into the machine but i can not map a drive through a GUI or using the net use
command.  Firewall is turned off, net bios is ...

I have 3 accounts on my computer. One belongs to my wife (limited) the second
belong to me (administrato). There is also an "Administrator" account which
does not show at the "welcome" screen. I use alt+ctrl+del at the login screen

How do you boot to DOS in NON-HIMEM environment?
Amazingly, the bios flash for my Intel SE7505VB2 MB, will not work if a

I have used AVG for a good while now and have it set to scan my emails.  I
have seen several posts in this and other groups recommending not to have it
scan emails because it is not needed.  Can someone explain why this might

after i install windows xp pro with service pack 2, i found that in task
manager, the file svchost.exe allocates big amount of memory (about 27MB) so
i thought that my windows is infected with a virus or something is wrong.
is it normal that this service allocates that much memory ...

i didn't have virus protection for about 24 hours and my computer got flooded
with spyware...i have cleaned it all up now, but there is still the little
"help and support" icon (a little question mark inside of a blue circle) on

We have a computer set up that requires us to (on request) completely lock
down the local computer.
We do this using group policies, by having two group policies and when
required replacing the entire %SystemRoot%\system32\GroupPolicy directory;

I need to add three different wireless network configurations to 15+
laptops.  Obviously this could take abit of time, is it possible to add
wireless network configurations via  batch file, registry file, group policy
etc ???
