i do not know what happened to my computer access.  for 2 years i have been
able to log on w/o a admin password and suddenly my laptop is requesting one.

I use XP Pro on a Dell laptop and have been having trouble creating a user
that can log on.  I do use the computer with my work network and also have a
similar problem with that domain.  I can log in ok as admin on my local

I've noticed that my Scheduled Tasks (not sure about the english
translation) never run. The log file for Scheduled Tasks says that "Empty

I would like to use command-line to reboot computer and go to safe mode
without pressing F8. Is that possible to use "shutdown" command to

I have a failing WIN-XP Home hard drive that no longer boots.  There are data
files on the drive that may be recovered by booting up to another drive, but
all I can get as a response is "access Denied" when I try to view them, and
copying the folder elsewhere is not permitted ...

I ran this program to check for keylogging files.
It thought perhaps this file was one -
c:\windows\system32\config\software.LOG
I am unable to view or delete or copy this file.

I have done some research on automatically logging off Windows XP
machines after a period of inactivity, but have found nothing
enlightening that will work in my situation.  I have a Windows Server
