I have Winodws One Crae and thought I was covered... but I kept getting

Im running WinXP Pro, and im pretty sure I disabled the firewall last time.
Problem is, I cant re-enable it due to "Group Policy."  I have NO clue how to
reset it so that windows firewall automatically turns on, or even turns on at

I have a file which I can't access on my XP client PC when logged in as user

My firewall occasionally reports that Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe)

So I would like to have the ability to remotely shut down one of the
computers on my home network.  This is a Windows XP Home machine,
though, and I'm not sure if that's possible without XP Pro.  As it is,
when I run 'shutdown -s -m \\machinename -t 0' from my XP Pro machine,

My XP Pro sp2 machine is doing double duty as a file server for a small
workgroup.  No domains are involved.  I have created a local user that is
used when I map the shared drive from the other machines but have two
questions:

I'm using windows XP home edition with sp2. a pop up message is coming
everytime i launch IE telling me that a security scan is required. I ran
yahoo anti spyware and it removes some files. but the pop up keeps coming.
any help?

why do some games (particullarly older ones) only work when being played as
an addministrator and not a limited account? and how do you fix this problem
so that both account types can play the game?
