I have several folders under Documents and Settings in Windows XP Home
that no user account can access.  They are more or less locked from
everybody including admins.  They show up in explorer and are clearly
still there.

Hi, i can use the internet and my laaptop fine(ish) as im on a limited user
account, The only reason i am using limited accounts is for security reasons.
Obviously when i need to install something i have to run it through the
admin account.

I've been bothered by this for few days and i cant carry on with my
work now due to this. I'm extremely annoyed. please help.
It all started by i downloaded an intcodec from a website. Then,
everytime i opened my browser, a page something like

My brother is having difficulty installing Windows Defender onto his Windows
XP Professional (SP2) machine. He`s just installed Windows and it was one of
the first programs he installed after his anti-virus. Every time he tries to

I just got a new notebook with a fingerprint reader.  Are fingerprint
readers really that secure? Can't they be easily by-passed?
I also have a BIOS password, but it does not come into play when the
notebook hibernates.  Then it only asks for the fingerprint.
